escapeshellcmd() has been disabled for security reasons

Greetings!

I'm using Softaculous to insall HumHub at the root of my domain (https://www.globaline.ga). However, whenever a user tries to signup on it, he/she gets a full page of error. The basics of the error is: escapeshellcmd() has been disabled for security reasons. So, I guess, this is hosting related. I don't have much knowledge as to what it is. So, it'd be nice if someone can explain me why exactly it is disabled and if any workaround exists or if it can be enabled. I might have used some other application by the time anyone checks, so, they might not get the error. So, here is the link to the PDF of the error: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UoxMT82Hxs-BW6-4BbOTPz90sFXUSNN5

I don't really have anything to add to that. That PHP function has been disabled and so it cannot be used. Any kind of shell access is blocked on our hosting, so if your script requires command line access to work, you won't be able to host it here.

  • Yeah. I had expected. I don't know what the particular app does on the backend, right? So, just confirmed. Thank you for the confirmation. Also is my account epiz_21669858 suspended due to entry process limits? And, I have 2 other accounts in my account, which I had closed myself, even those 2 are suspended. Not that I want them, but, is there any way to remove those accounts from my account list so that I can get rid of clutter? I had created those accounts just for test and learning purposes. I don't need them now.

    Glad to be of help.

I'm not sure, does it say so in the client area? Because if it says that in the client area, that means it's likely true.

Unfortunately, we are legally required to keep all accounts for a while after they've been deactivated. So I'm afraid you're going to have to wait for at least 90 days.

It says nothing. It's just showing suspended.

Okay. Thank you for the clarification.

Did you click the username? There is another page with a lot more information there.

It says ToS violation. Surprisingly, I've violated the ToS of those accounts which I myself had closed down. So, I cn remove these suspended accounts also after 90 days, right?

They will be removed automatically after 90 days. If you don't want to reactivate the accounts, you can just leave them as they are now and they'll disappear eventually.

  • Thank you for the information.
