I have a domain setup in CLOUDFLARE and I have used CNAME to do subdomains / alias for different hosting sites so can I use the same for a FREE IF account?
You can use subdomains, domains, but you’re unable to have something like that:sub2.sub1.domain.com

no, you have to update nameservers!
To add the domain name to your hosting account, you must change the nameservers first. After you’ve added the domain and created the subdomain, you can change the nameservers back to whatever you want.
