Can someone please help this?
Thank you.

We’re aware of the issue and we’re working on it. I don’t have any new information besides that.

Please don’t create more posts or topics about it. We don’t need more information from you and we don’t have more information we can give to you.

Please be patient. As soon as I know more, I’ll share it.

I have several programs that automatically FTP to update my website several times each day. Without FTP, my website is completely useless. While I understand the hosting is “free”, you have now kidnapped my website, maybe hoping I will upgrade, so effectively you are demanding a ransom. This needs to be fixed immediately. Without FTP capabilities, you cannot in good faith advertise as a hosting provider. At a minimum, advise new customers that FTP services are wholly unreliable.

No, we are not asking you to upgrade to premium, and few people are actually affected by this.

Since we care about you and your site, we are working to get this fixed, so you don’t have to pay, but we just don’t know how long it will take.

If you are tired of waiting, there are two options:

  1. Upgrade to premium, but you probably are here because you don’t want to pay
  2. Create a new account and move your domain, files, and database over. New accounts should be generated on a hosting volume that is not affected by this issue.

Thanks for the quick response - much appreciated and I do sympathize with your problem. Both options can probably work for me, especially if it eliminates the “502 Bad Gateway” and “Secure Site Not Available” errors I frequently receive. However, it seems both options will require that I upload files, although I am new to all this, so maybe I am wrong. Since I cannot download the files from the existing website, not sure how I can upload the existing files to a new domain. Is there a work around for you to allow me to download my existing website files? I can wait until the FTP problem is resolved before changing, deleting or uploading new files. Thanks.

Please understand that this is not exactly the intended use case for our FTP service. Yes, it’s intended for website management, but something that you use occasionally to upload a new version of your code or install new software, not something that’s being used to automatically upload stuff frequently.

No. We did not tell you to upgrade and we do not tell you to upgrade. This is our fault and we need to fix it. I don’t know the nature of the issue exactly, so I also cannot guarantee that account migrations are not affected by this.

Only a few percent of all accounts are affected by this. Most people have working FTP. FTP being down for so long is extremely rare and has only happened a few times in the 6 years I’ve been using this platform.

Every company has issues at some point. We don’t guarantee 100% uptime and you shouldn’t assume that this is the case.

Switching to a different account is indeed difficult because pulling the files from the account is not really possible right now. If you have a backup of your website’s files, you may be able to work with that. And remember that your database is unaffected and can still be exported and migrated whenever you want.

Thanks. Since you do not automatically backup website files, I was going to create my own backup. That is when I discovered the FTP services would not let me download the files so I could have a current backup.

Hi,
is it possible delete the domain in the old account and recreate it with the same name (important thing), in the new account without wait 60 days? Is it immediate?

Thank you in advance

Yes

On the old accounts control panel, make sure you delete the domain from the Addon/parked/subdomains section BEFORE you delete the account. If you do so, the domain can then be used on another account.

I have the same problems. - Unfortunately, I found that my account was moved to the faulty server. I have definitely been registered here for 5 months, but my account data shows that I created my account 6 days ago (!). I would definitely remember that.
Now the website is completely unusable and I have no chance to access my files via FTP either. So instead of a bug fix, it’s getting worse and worse …

Welcome! We don’t move websites to other servers automatically, so I am assuming that you made this change? And if the server was changed, than it makes complete sense that the date was updated, as you have to create a new account to change servers.

I would just migrate your site to a new account again, since you already know the process it should go faster this time.

Thank you for your reply.
No, I definitely did not do this. Yesterday my website was still working (at least temporarily). BTW, why would I create an account on the faulty server? Is it even possible to select this?

You can’t choose, but the automated system can. And AFAIK, iFastNet hasn’t set up anything preventing new accounts from being placed on these temporarily “faulty” servers.

@Skiredj What is your webiste URL?

Thank you for your answer.

But the starting post says exactly that:
If you don’t want to wait for that (or want to help reduce the load), you can create a new hosting account, and migrate your website to the new account. This new hosting account will be created on a different server that doesn’t have these stability issues. And in doing so, you are helping reduce the load for others on the server.

According to this, I should now be on a server that is not affected.
Am I misunderstanding something?

I just checked it. We recently made some changes that should improve data consistency, but it seems that it wiped the account creation and possibly account update timestamps. I’ve put in a note to get it fixed but it may take a few days.

Judging by the account username, your account is indeed not new. So likely it was created long before this server had trouble.

They do this but it’s usually a manual action. It doesn’t look like any new accounts have been created on these servers recently.

My site is also not working.
Site gives 404 error
FTP software gives 421 Home directory not available error.
Unable to connect via File Manager. First it gave Authentication failure error. Now it says it cannot connect. I can connect to and open control panel(Vista Panel).
Softaculous App Installer says : “Something went wrong. We will be back in 20 minutes.”

My site was working fine till last week.

I’m having the same issue on a client website that I manage for a small virtual book club.

Users are getting “404” errors when they try and access the site. When I log in, it shows the site is active but when I go to the File manager there are no files and my creation date has also been updated to “2022-11-20” even though the site has been active longer. I see that my server is one of the affected server by the stability issues.

Is there anything I need to do? Any ETA on when this might be resolved?

Thanks!
