I mistakenly deleted all the files for my wordpress site , I made a backup but cant find it , used filezilla and deleted them all . is there any way I can retrieve them ?
The whole thing started when I didnt know how to “upload my website to infityfree” :S noob here .
been looking for the website while it was right infront of me but still when I try to browse it it gives me that messesge "Let’s Make Something Awesome " :S

check the “in Directory” field in Softaculous, it should be empty if you do not want a subdirectory
ok thanks am aware of that but the problem is that I already deleted the files , is there a way to recover them perhaps?
unfortunately you are an administrator and you have to keep backup of files and DBs
since your wordpress is installed in subdir http://domain/wp/
and I believe you do not want that
then the backup does not make any sense
only a fresh install but this time check the “in Directory” field
ok i just found the tools export backup file … let me try to import that hopefully should work on a fresh wordpress install right?
you will get a lot of problems with PATH
because in the old there is WP dir
and “does not exist” in the new one
but if you choose default settings - you can try
you are right , I cant even start a new fresh website … think will have to delete my existance first then come back and create a new website … some ordeal for real :S

You can install wp on root domain from sub dir and restore your backup of sub dir
but you have to perform some extra steps like going to phpmyadmin and opening database of wordpress and changing url from sub dir to root domain.

softaculous - if you want to uninstall
on the toolbar (up right) the box icon is located (the mouse above that icon will write “all installations”)
click it
and then How to remove a installation
Thankyou very much , Ive been successful in starting a new website, now its the same as regard of the wp directory but will do as advised, there is another concern here , Im not able to get emails , have changed the mx record but stil its the same , cant get any email in my inbox , any tips please?

am just using roundcube (webmail) for that , I just read something about cloudflare breaking integrations with mail , so I just disabled it and set the mx record again hoping that after the dns propogation finishes everything will be ok . lets see and thankyou for the help
