Files keep getting deleted on ftp for some reason

hi i’m trying to upload some JSON and php files but they are always getting removed and i can’t edit them. why is this happening?

Please make sure you upload the files to a htdocs folder, files created outside the htdocs folder are automatically deleted.

i’m uploading inside htdocs but they get deleted

I have the same experience. I uploaded some html files that were around 2Mb each to a subfolder of htdocs. The files were deleted immediately.
