I have to admit that until now I have not seen this error “-536870212”

digging a bit on the internet
seems to have something to do with the VPN

Do you use VPN when trying to connect to FTP?

Maybe it’s a generic error that Unix OS (MAC) returns…

I also haven’t seen this error before. But all search results point referencing that particular error code point to various issues on Apple devices. The issues range from software bugs to OS issues to network problems, so I have no idea what could be causing this.

A few things you could try:

  • Make sure you’re running the latest version of MacOS and FileZilla.
  • Try a different FTP client (I’ve been told Cyberduck is pretty good).
