How long can a website be unattended?

I just tried the service 000Webhost.com and after some days, they emailed a cleanup rutine:

Hello …,

It’s been a while since you’ve been on 000webhost, and we wanted to make sure that you’re still interested in website mystery.000webhostapp.com. If so, just hit this button:

Keep my website

If not, you don’t have to do anything. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we’ll just send your website to sleep. You can come back and wake your website anytime, whenever you’re ready. All your content will be here when you get back.

But it was only yesterday since last login on their controlpanel.

How do you deal with old stuff on your servers with free hosting?

We have inactivity checks as well. After all, we’d rather provide server space to people who can use it, and not spend it on people who already forgot about us or are not interested in free hosting.

Specifically, your website needs to be visited occasionally every month. You or someone else opening a page on your website should be enough to keep your account active. You don’t need to login to the client area, control panel or forum to keep your account.

If you don’t open your website, you will get a similar email like the one you posted above (including the reactivation link). If you don’t do anything, the account will be suspended after 2 days, but you can still reactivate it whenever you want. Five days after the suspension, the account will be removed entirely.
