Hello everyone,
I am having a problem with uploading HTML to my website. When I upload the HTML, I only see the code on the website and the HTML is not rendered. Here are a few things that I have checked and confirmed:
The extension of the file (.html) is correct.
The name of the file is “index.html”.
The problem is not likely to be in the code, as when I upload it to a website where I can preview HTML, it works there.
I know this may be a very simple question, but I have been trying for a few hours and nothing seems to work. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?

Have you verified that the file is placed in the correct folder (htdocs/ if it’s the domain you signed up with, domain/htdocs/ otherwise)?
Can you also attach a screenshot to show what you mean?

Hi! The url should be: lucasdld.epizy.com
So for me it shows the code(see screenshot)
And yes, i did place it in the correct folder
Okay, so this is very strange… it seems that your file does not contain your actual HTML code, but something wrapping that code as text (you can notice by viewing the source code by doing Ctrl + U).
Did you save your file from a text editor such as Word? I could only replicate this effect there, and if so, when saving to HTML there it will not save the code that you’re writing as HTML code, but as text and it will keep the text editor’s formatting of it.
Try editing your index.html file from Online File Manager and replacing everything with the code the contents of which you want displayed (so this):

except that the doctype declaration is missing
you also have the class “doc-content” and you don’t have any CSS defined anywhere
and hundreds of repetitions for the CSS style for <p><span>

I very much doubt these are manual. Word applies those automatically, and I bet other rich text editors do too.

Alright, so i tried writing the code directly to the online file manager and now it works.

I use notepad++ (free opensource) for my website and have never looked back
