I can't delete the file

Hi , I can’t delete the file. It’s giving 550 error codes. :frowning: I’d appreciate it if u could help me. :slight_smile:

What file you’re trying to delete?

FTP status code 550 - Requested action not taken. File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access).

Either you’re trying to delete a file which doesn’t exist, or the permissions on the file are preventing you from deleting it.

In case it’s a permission issue, it’s likely either:

  • A protected system file. Some (older) accounts have folder and (log) files which are protected against deletions.
  • You changed the permissions on the file to a mode where you cannot edit them anymore yourself.

In either case, there is no way to reset file permissions to fix this, so there is no way to delete these files.
