I want to upload some script, see list and say can I upload?

I am worried about suspend account, so before upload, I want to know these scripts can I upload?

Hi, First any NULLED script is NOT ALLOWED here.
Which means you had to really-really purchase the script.

Examples of not allowed script and website types include (but are not limited to):

  • Pornographic/adult content
  • Proxy scripts
  • Chat scripts
  • Bitcoin / cryptocurrency faucet sites

BeDrive is considered as File Sharing / Storage script.

Forum Script is okay.

Movie database, Yes it’s okay.

Messaging script is considered CHATTING script.

You can use third party chatting script and embed it tho.

Music store script… Uhm… If you store music in it, I guess it might be considered file storage… but Admin will clarify this.

Shortened URL script is NOT ALLOWED BUT EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE IF :

  1. The script was used privately.
  2. The Shotened URL does not redirect to phising, malware, etc.
    If the conditions are not met, then it will be taken down!

  • Sites where people upload anything to share, whether that’s files, photos, songs or videos.
  • Chat scripts, or any other type of live messaging systems. Such software works by continuously asking the server for new messages, which puts a lot of stress on the hosting servers. PTC and traffic exchange sites also sort-of fall under this category.
  • Any illegal (or legally questionable) content like pornography, torrents, cracked software, etc.

Social networking sites, Q&A sites, URL shorteners on their own do not match any of these criteria, so they can be hosted here. But, that’s only if the content being shared on those sites does not violate the terms either. So a social networking site about sharing pirated video games or a URL shortener linking to pornography will be taken down as well.

Alright, this means Chat Script that was hosted on third party/other server is allowed right?
Previously I had one chat script Which uses Google’s Cloud Platform for the message system but it was removed now for performance issue.

I was going through ownCloud documentation and found this. Now I don’t have that technical knowledge but it appears that ownCloud uses some database related tach that is prohibited. Plus the terms of service is also preventing it. Now the documentation I was pointing earlier allows someone to use google drive as storage, so how about that kind of service.

Do you mean Vanilla Forums? That’s a forum suite, not a chat script, so you can host it without any problems.

Short answer: no.

To elaborate, using a ownCloud/NextCloud with external uploader presents the following issues:

  • ownCloud/NextCloud relies on the InnoDB database engine, which is not supported on free hosting.
  • Even if the files are not stored on your account, having a file manager between you and Google Drive means the files are still uploaded through your account. That can take a lot of bandwidth and use a lot of server power, so uploaders and downloaders are not allowed either.
  • The security system which ensures only websites can be hosted here means the desktop and mobile sync clients for ownCloud/NextCloud can’t be used.

In the end, you’d be left with a slower, more restrictive web panel for Google Drive. So you’d have a better experience using Google Drive directly.

@Admin, please go through your softaculous as few scripts are still there that kinda violates ToS, I guess, like yourl.
I understand that it’s an exception but add a warning sign or something.

Yourls and other URL shortener sites are not against the terms. And Yourls specifically does not allow anyone to create URLs with your shortener, so it’s pretty safe to host.

Any script you want to upload that is not releted to that in softaculous, it’s best you avoid it, or ask @Admin for clearance

As you already found out the hard way: chat scripts are not allowed. A chat script for XenForo is also a chat script, so obviously it’s not allowed either.
