My question is, I have subscribed for the free hosting plan. Is it ok if I place advertisements on my websites or will my account be banned?

It’s your website, as long as it’s not illegal or harmful to you, us or other people, you can do whatever you want with the account. So I can’t think of any reason why you couldn’t add ads to your own site.
