Here are some common errors, causes, solutions, and things NOT to do.

ERROR: The control panel is down for maintenance, This site can’t be reached, 502 bad gateway, or redirecting to suspendeddomain.org

What is causing it:

  1. Infinityfree/IFastNet is doing some maintenance on the servers in MOFH (Myownfreehost). Some of the maintenance crashed/failed and caused the websites on the IP Addresses in the pinned topic to be down.

  2. The DDos attacks happening to the IP address: 185.27.134.133. Caused by the kid or immature adult who’s website got suspended.

What to do:

  1. Wait, the simplest thing to do is to wait.
  2. Use Cloudflare Pages (listed below)
Cloudflare Pages

If your website is static, uses cloudflare, and you urgently need your website to be up, you can use Cloudflare Pages to temporary host your site. To do that, go to your Cloudflare dashboard and click on pages (on the right sidebar, kind of looks like an ad). Then go to Github.com and create an account. Create a GitHub repository and upload all of your website files there (using either git or by manually uploading). Then go back to the Cloudflare pages section and connect your GitHub repository. Follow the instructions and done. When Infinityfree’s servers are back online, no harm is done, just point your domain back to your infinityfree main domain.

What NOT to do:

  1. Spam new topics or me toos
  2. Complain about the 99.9% uptime guarantee. Infinityfree is normally has a 99.9% uptime (sometimes 100% uptime), but because of this outage it has affected it a lot (and admin doesn’t have time to update their homepage).
  3. Don’t ping the admin

ERROR: No SSL Certificate Created, SSL handshake failed, Insecure message.

What is causing it:

  1. Infinityfree’s SSL generator failed
  2. You used Cloudflare’s Full status without an SSL installed (or not installed properly, see #3)
  3. The outage (listed above) caused SSL Certificates to not be installed properly.

What to do:

  1. Use win-acme (if you point your nameservers to infinityfree) or SSL Certificate Generator: Free letsencrypt SSL in minutes - PunchSalad (if you use Cloudflare) to generate Let’s Encrypt SSLs. Use GoGetSSL’s site (GoGetSSL 90-day Trial SSL for best price of $0.00/year) to generate GoGetSSL Certificates.
  2. Change the SSL status to flexible or install a self signed SSL if using Cloudflare
  3. If the SSL doesn’t install properly (caused by the outage) you can either wait or use Cloudflare instead (with the flexible setting).

What NOT to do:

  1. As said above, please don’t spam topics or me toos.
  2. Don’t ping the admin

ERROR: Error Establishing Database Connection

What is causing it:

  1. WordPress (or other CMSs or web applications that uses databases) database details are wrong.
  2. Infinityfree/MOFH Database Server is down.

What to do:

  1. Find out the correct database, user and password.
Find out the correct database, user, and password

To find the database, user, and password, follow the steps below.

To find out the correct database do this. If you only have one database, compare that to the one in wp-config.php (or the one in softaculous if you are using something else). If you have multiple, then click on one of the databases, click on wp_options (or wpx_options) table and see if the website URL in the database matches the actual website URL. If yes then that is the correct database and the only thing you need to do is to compare that to the one in wp-config.php(or the one in softaculous if you are using something else).

To find out the correct database user and password go to your MySQL databases and you will see your database user and password, then just compare that to the one in wp-config.php.

  1. Temporary host the database on freesqldatabase.com, freemysqldatabase.net, or remotemysql.com (you would need to do a survey but in return you get more database storage).
Tutorial

To do that, go to the phpMyAdmin of your database, click on export. Then go to the phpmyadmin of the new database, click on import and import that file. Then go to the wp-config.php (or the one in softaculous if you are using something else) and change the database details to the new one.

What NOT to do:

  1. As said above, please don’t spam topics or me toos.
  2. Don’t ping the admin

Not bad, but remember this is what the pinned topics are for.

Also, you forgot to think the official (Or semi-official) topics for these error.

502 - Bad Gateway IP 185.27.134.133

SSL Certificate Failed, Pending, Not found

IP 185.27.134.116 and 185.27.134.98 not working

Error Establishing a Database Connection - Database Not Found

As @robertz said,

  • Please do not Ping the Admin
  • Please do not create new topics on these errors, but instead reply to the corrected topic lined above with your domain and username (Don’t just say “Me too”
  • Please do not ask “When will this problem be solved” or similar

Thanks for your understanding and corporation while we wait for iFastNet to fix the multiple ongoing errors.
