Removing old http to use https

i got an ssl certificate and want to use the secure version , it works fine , however , the https version still available and have same files as the secured one .
can i remove the unsecure one ?

Instead of changing in http to https in file code use force https without touching the code that will help to avoid issue when SSL broken
