Resetting Password Problem

I have two domains at infinityfree.net. I have forgotten my password.

I can go to the “reset password” page, enter my e-mail address, then press the enter key and this will result in me receiving an e-mail message with a “reset your password” button. This logs me in.

The problem is, the only option I can find for resetting my password requires me to enter my old password.

(I can find options for updating the passwords of each individual domain, but not for the overarching account.)

Help?

For starters: what password did you forget? Did you forget hosting account passwords or the client area password?

If you forgot a hosting account password, you can just copy it from the client area without resetting it. You can also enter a new password there and save it without having to enter your old password first.

I am talking about the only password that you cannot reset without knowing the old password: the infinityfree password. Are you saying that there is a way to change the infinityfree password after the button puts me in my infinityfree account that does not require knowing my password?

This talk of host and client accounts is confusing. I have two domains here with different passwords. You are saying that I can copy one to somewhere and it will fix things? I just tried using passwords from my domain accounts and it did not work.

There is no password you cannot change without knowing the old one.

If you forgot your client area password, you need to log out first, then request a password reset here: https://infinityfree.net/password/reset

Logging out first is very important. If you are not logged out, you cannot request a password reset that way.

If you have any suggestions on how to make it less confusing, I’m open to suggestions. Just know that the hosting account passwords and client area passwords cannot be kept in sync due to security restrictions.
