Search Index

Why is this appearing in Google? Look at the 4th one down.

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site%3Arydercragie.com

I blame this:

Google indexes all web pages, so it makes sense that they index the parking page too.

That said, as you can see, the parking page is ranked lower than all other content, so it shouldn’t overtake the search position of your own website.

I don’t see anything on google first page.

but looks like it redirects to rydercragie.com. Here,

Look here.

Ah. Just make that a real subdomain and have it redirect to your homepage.

I’m confused though. You originally shared that URL in this forum a few days ago. Now it’s on Google. Why?

This is a fairly busy forum which Google crawls a lot and ranks quite highly. So Google indexes the URLs shared here.

All the URLs shared here are set with the rel="nofollow" attribute so having a backlink from this forum won’t boost your search engine ratings. But that doesn’t stop Google from indexing them.

Okay, Greenreader can you delete all of your comments where you’ve posted that link please? Thanks.

I edited the post. Do you use Cloudflare with your site?

No

Did you clear the cache correctly? It can be weird depending on what mobile OS and browser you use.

That worked. But it takes about 10 seconds and I’m not sure why. Also it doesn’t work if you have an ad blocker enabled.

Put this in your .htaccess files, and remove whatever you just did.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^(files\.)? rydercragie.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://rydercragie.com/$1 [L,R]

Clear your cache and try again.
