Yes, we have bot protection to prevent automated attacks on sites and save server resources used by essentially no-one. We have made sure that search engine spiders can still access the site, but other bots like verifiers and uptime monitors will be blocked. We cannot disable this measure, unfortunately.
To work around this, you could enable Cloudflare for your website. Cloudflare does accept bot traffic so you can verify your site that way. Alternatively, you could upgrade your account.
