[SOLVED] Active accounts redirecting to suspendeddomain.org

Last night, a configuration error occurred which caused an outage on many web servers.

The result of this was that many websites redirected to suspendeddomain.org / suspended-website.com, even though the accounts themselves were active.

This issue has been resolved earlier today, and any websites on active accounts should not redirect to suspendeddomain.org again.

We’re sorry for the issues this has caused.

We are aware of the issue and are doing our best to get this resolved as soon as possible.

I completely understand that this may cause confusion and you will have additional questions. I am happy to provide any information I have to help you.

However, to keep the contents of this topic clean, clear and concise, I ask that you carefully read the Outage Communication Rules before posting.

In a nutshell:

  • Please keep the posts about the outage in this topic, and all posts not about this outage outside of this topic.
  • Please post relevant questions only that have not been answered yet. It may be compelling to ask obvious questions like “when will this be fixed”, but basic information like that will be put in this message as soon as we know it.
  • Please carefully check the known symptoms and affected components.
    • If you are on the affected components, you are almost certainly affected by the outage. If so, please refrain from simply stating you are affected, it does not help get your service back up faster.
    • If you are not on the affected components but do experience all of the symptoms, please say so below so we can check if our list is incomplete.
    • If you do not experience all listed issues and are not on the components that are known to be affected, the issue you are experiencing is most likely not related to this outage. If so, please create a new topic in the Hosting Support category and describe the issue there.
  • If you say you are affected by the outage, please always include your website URL. I can’t check if you are affected by the outage if you don’t say which of your websites is affected.

Posts that do not follow these rules may be deleted without warning. This is to help ensure that all the relevant information is easily available to everyone reading this topic.

We believe that when there is an outage, the first message shall come from you.
second, my website has 3 pages and I have refresh count on each page. The page count was 748 when it says suspended due to lot of hits HIT LIMIT of 50k. I am not sure how come 748*3 or even 10 can be 50k limit. Seems you were under DOSS attack and not a configuration issue. Please help to check and confirm how come my website hit the limit with max 3 page (1 html, 1 css, 1 js and 1 php being loaded on a request). my website is rwadwarka.com

This is a free service, and there is only one staff member (Admin). Do you expect him to be running tests on the server 24/7?

Both were actually occurring.

Your website is now working.

Most outages start with users reporting issues. Sometimes outages can be detected by monitoring before that happens, but not every issue can be detected automatically.

We don’t have detailed logs about that. The access logs are immediately aggregated and then discarded. All we know how many hits all sites on the account got, we don’t record who requested what and when exactly.

In the above post it states, “the issue has been resolved earlier today”, but below that it says, “we are aware of the issue and are doing our best to get this resolved as soon as possible”. I’m confused, was the issue resolved or are you still working on it?

It is solved. If you are still experiencing issues, create a new topic or update an existing one of yours with the details of the problem.

Thanks, it was apparently a cache issue.
