I am unable to update Yoast Seo to a newer version. Whenever I try to do so, site goes to development mode and the plugin update fails and shows various errors. I have to then delete the .maintanence file manually.
I suggest you update that with a fresh zip file you can find here, a FTP client like FileZilla, and these instructions, replacing the files and checking “Always use this action” while replacing the first file, to remove the hassle of clicking many times to replace them.
