It says not to upload files into the home directory where I access the files. I like putting a folder in the home directory for all my php files and scripts to point to for the function of my website(s). Is this ok?
@LeaVon, Welcome to the forums!
You should never upload the files in the home directory, as it will not be recognised by the browser. In the home directory only the .htaccess file will be there to redirect the 404, 403, 500 error documents. The server is configured to load the files from the /hdocs or /domain/htdocs folder.
I’m sorry, but that’s not going to work here. On our hosting, PHP executes with an open_basedir restriction, meaning it can only access files within the web accessible folder of that domain.
So uploading website code to the home directory is not possible, and even if you could, you wouldn’t be able to use it on any website.
