Dear InfinityFree community,
I urgently need your help as my website is suddenly displaying a 404 Not Found error on all devices and browsers. I have already tried several troubleshooting steps, including checking the folder structure, verifying file permissions, confirming domain configuration, flushing DNS cache, clearing browser cache and cookies, and ensuring that my SSL certificate is properly configured, but the issue persists.
To rule out any issues with my website’s code, I even tried uploading a placeholder index.html file with “this is a test” text only, but the error still appears. Additionally, I can confirm that my domain is not expired and has been working fine for the past few days.
I am at a loss as to what could be causing this sudden error, especially since I have not made any recent changes to my website. My domain is purchased and set up through Domain.com.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance or suggestions to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your support!
I added the rules to .htaccess, still the 404 page. Doesn’t matter if I type in http or https manually, just the 404 page. Except for Tor where if I type in https manually yeah the SSL is there but still defaults to http. Still the 404 page on my phone which is not connected to the same wi fi as my laptop.
I’ve cleared browser cache, the site works in incognito mode & private browsing but not in normal mode.
In the console in private mode I get these errors:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () (errors.infinityfree.net/errors/404/:1 )
If your site works in private browsing but not in normal mode, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a caching issue in normal mode. Even the “clear cache” buttons don’t clear all internal storage, only private browsing reliably bypasses it.
