WinSCP ftp timeout detected

Thank you for providing the screenshot, it clearly shows that the timeout is encountered before the connection is setup, rather than later on.

This typically means that there is some kind of connection problem between your computer and our FTP servers. To figure out what’s going on, can you please make a tracert from your computer to the FTP server?

You can find tracert on your computer, it’s a part of Windows. If you don’t know where to find it or how to make a traceroute, there are many articles available online which can tell you about it.

you are on winXP (except for your last picture)

  • Click on the Start menu.

  • Click on Run.

  • In the “Open” text box type cmd

  • Click on the OK button. This will bring up the Windows command prompt.

  • In the command prompt, type:

tracert ftpupload.net

once the traceroute is completed - take screenshot and upload here

or put mouse focus in cmd,
than press CTRL + A
than CTRL + C
and than paste text here

Thank you for sending the tracert results. They show that your computer can connect to our network, which is a good start.

In order to figure out what’s going on, I need a bit more information from FileZilla. Previously, FileZilla showed the relevant logs by default, but they have hidden it now.

To retrieve the right logs from FileZilla, can you please:

  1. Open FileZilla.
  2. Go to Edit → Settings…
  3. Click Debug on the right.
  4. Change the option “Debug information in message log” to “2 - Info”.
  5. Click OK in the bottom left corner of the popup to save.
  6. Try to setup an FTP connection as usual.
  7. Copy the contents of the log panel (the one at the top of the screen with the colored text) and paste it to a reply here.

Sure
