Word press cant see my image files

Hi im getting a error on a Theme im using in word press

Your current path is NOT writable therefore images might not be saved.

and i’ve checked the paths all point to correct folder, ive change file permission to 755 and 777 but still they don’t show up in the media section … the file names are their but their preview icon doesnt show and when click to see it nothing comes up but the address of the image which is in the correct folder

some of the files WP are looking for… really do not exist 404
