Wordpress installation 5.2 error, no access to my page due to error 500

Hi all,

I’m desperately looking for help, because I can’t get any access to my webpage’s control panel:
http://thepathoflove.eu/wp-admin/

I just get to see the page This page isn’t working

thepathoflove.eu is currently unable to handle this request.

HTTP ERROR 500

I think the new version of Wordpress never got updated completely, because we had Wifi problems at home. I tried to stop it before it had even started, but maybe it was already updating and that explains the problem.

Is there any way I can reset back to square 1 (I had hardly built something anyway so I don’t mind losing the few things I had selected already) and start over with access to the admin panel of Wordpress?

Thank you so much for your help, I really really appreciate it.
All the best from Madrid

This does sound like the WordPress upgrade broke. You may be able to revert the upgrade, but manually completing the upgrade involves the exact same steps.

What are these steps, you may ask? These steps are described in this article:

Thank you so much!!! It took me a while to understand all the steps, but I think it has worked!! I’m back on my admin page. THANK YOU!

Just one question, it says on my admin page:
An automated WordPress update has failed to complete - please attempt the update again now.

Do I need to attempt the update again now? Or can I ignore that because I’ve already updated everything manually?

Thanks for your help!

You successfully updated your website files, but there may still be some database changes which need to be done as well. If you click the “attempt the update again” button, it should update the database, and everything should be up to the latest version.
