FTP error code 503, according to the list on Wikipedia, means “Bad sequence of commands.”. The first thought that raises with me is that your FTP client is malfunctioning.
Can you please share the full connection log of FileZilla so we can see what the sequence of commands actually is, and see what could be the issue?
