Personally, I spent an increase in “Daily Hits Used” on my site, and if I hit the limit the site drops for 24 hours … how to avoid or block it?
If it’s caused by your website being under attack, there is not much you can do about it. Attacks bring down websites, that’s unfortunately how the internet works. Stopping attacks is complicated and expensive.
If you have your own domain, you could move it to Cloudflare and set Cloudflare to “I’m under attack” mode, which will block everyone who isn’t a legitimate visitor.
