Inodes counter stays the same after deleting files and directories

I’ve deleted a bunch of files and directories and the inodes have stayed the exact same. It’s been 48 hours. Is there some trash can or some other caching that is causing this??

No

Also no on our servers, but can be true if your browser has stubborn cache.

Maybe more cache files are being generated and it stayed the same; or the effect of your deletion is too mild and doesn’t matter much, so it might appears to be the same.

Please create a new topic for this the next time — the docs itself isn’t supposed to serve the support purpose.

It’s not a live counter, it’s only sampled occasionally. It’s not strictly caching, but the counter is never completely up to date.

The counter is supposed to be updated every 8 hours, but sometimes it can take longer. It’s also possible that your deletions just may be having less of an effect on your usage than you would have hoped.

Do you know how many files and directories you’re supposed to have? And what does the counter say?
