softaciolous does not start

Hi guys,

when I click “Softaculous Apps Installer” in cPanel nothing happens.

People having the same problem said a worng password was passed.

So:

what can I do to troubleshoot?
Where can I set the password passed?

You should be able to login automatically.

What do you mean by “nothing happens”? Does Softaculous keep loading indefinitely? Does it load but show an error message?

“nothing happens” meant in my case, that it kept loading for about 5 minutes and then Firefox gave a an “unable to connect” error.

But: I now works! I an using a different network. Maybe the firewall of the other network filtered connections to port 2082. I will check in a few days…

Good call, I suspect that as well! Some (overly?) cautious network administrators block all ports they don’t know, and while 2082 is the default port for cPanel, it’s usually not in the list of whitelisted ports.
