Recently, Vanilla rolled out a Critical Update to all forums and telling users who have a forum with Vanilla MUST update immediately. As my team and I are in control of our users data, we’d like to upgrade ASAP.

You can update it through softaculous (if you installed vanilla forums there).
Or you could manually update the new version through your FTP and update it there.
